I've had Cooper STTs for about 20k miles and they have been wearing fine. They work pretty well in snow, at least they did last winter.
Last week I went up an old dirt road that's been washed out numerous times and is very rocky. The tires chunked up pretty bad. Just wanted to give my experience with them in a bit rougher condition than I'd had them in prior. I don't have any scientific measuring devices but I think they are a softer compound then BFG AT or BFG MT tires which I've run in the past. BFG MT KMs that I had were used in rougher conditions without as much damage from rocks. The Coopers are supposed to have a pretty tough sidewall, but I don't know if it's any better as I've never torn a sidewall.
