I was standing on the dock with a coworker, and he turns to me and asks "why did you paint your front wheels black, and leave the back ones chrome?" Oops, guess I let the brake dust get carried away. So I got home today, and brought all them to a shine, nooks and crannies and all. Then I noticed my truck was pretty dirty, so I got out my cleaning utensils and started scrubbing. Brought everything to a shine, including door jams, running boards, headlights, grill, mirrors. My neighbor looked at me like I was crazy. I mean, sure it was pouring down rain, but that just makes it easier doesn't it? Don't have to jump on hte hose as soon as you get something washed to avoid it from drying back on there.
I also noticed that I had a LOT of paint imperfections... The top of the drivers door the paint was starting to chip a wee bit, but not so much that you could see it without getting up there. The rear corner had a little dent that is going to need tending to soon. The front and rear bumpers had rust spots, dents, little this and that. The front grill plastic around the outside was in less than desirable condition too. So, I was thinking, get the lower cladding resprayed with a gloss black, black running boards, front super brush guard in black with 12k winch, back super bumper with 12k winch. I think the white/black combo would look decent. Either way, it needs attention...
Ooh, I could find a black interior and swap it! No, no, I'm never doing an interior swap again. I'd sooner call ford, have htem custom build me a white Excursion with black interior for $250,000...
Thats what you get for washing it and paying attention to it. Now all you want to do is throw more money at it. When that is done, and then you wash it again you find something else to upgrade.http://images.ford-trucks.com/forums...ssingteeth.gif
Glass black lowers? No way! Satin or flat black would be better at hiding the inevitable dings and scratches. Or better yet...bed liner!
I would get a front receiver hitch and a winch that can be used in a 2" receiver. Then you can use it on either end. Probably save you tons of $$$, too!
