I have a 1979 f100 with the factory bench seat.
I want to replace that seat with two bucket seats and a console.
I am looking at seats from either a 97 or a 99 ford taurus???
I know somebody here has done this swap so please help me out and let me know the easiest and best way to make this conversion go as painless as possible.
Thanks - Jones
Basically you can install any seats you want with some modifying. I just put a set of 04 dodge intrepid buckets in my truck. The way to do it is take the brackets off the bench that mount to the floor and re-use them. Then just build the necessary brackets off of there to mount your seats. The only way to tell how to do it for sure is set a seat in there and start figuring and mounting. Good luck
I dont remember if the floor pan is the same in the Supercab and Reg cab trucks, but Im using bronco bucket seat brackets on my truck. At least with my supercab I still am able to get into the back of the truck without climbing over seats.
obviously rear seat access isnt an issue with your truck but the brackets put the seat exactlly where it needs to be.
I use 1997 Dodge Ram 40/40/20 bench seat in my truck. Just made my own frame and bolted her in. And the center seat stays in one place and folds down and opens up.
I pulled the seats and console out of an early 90's explorer. I havnt test fit them yet because I'm waiting for after Cruisin The Coast to do anything else major. They look like a nice fit though, but, as expected, I'll be drilling a few holes.
