Hey guys(girls too), just got a street scene Gen1 urethane bumper cover for my 08 SuperDuty. Included are instructions for prep/paint for a conventional base/clearcoat finish. What I would really like to do is have it rhinoed or linexed but I have no idea if the finish is compatable with the somewhat flexible substrate and I trust you guys here much more than the Linex dealer trying to peddle his product to steer me right. Any unusual prep that the textured (black) finish might need? Thanks in advance for your help.
Thanks Rick, was more concerned with the compatability with a plastic substrate. Its really just flexible enough to allow for a slip fit install over the bumper ends. Sounds like it might be a better idea to have them shoot it in place after install to eliminate having to flex it.
After seeing some demonstrations of Linex in military experiments as explosive proofing on vehicles, I'm gonna say you wont have any issues if you go with the linex. Lets just say it stretches out pretty far with out failure.
Linex it is then and thanks since I don't plan on any jobsite explosives in the forseeable future. I'll try to take the time to post a few pics when complete. Might be a good time to linex out those unsightly pinch welds at the bottoms of the fenders, doorsills and quarters. You can really see them on a white truck.
