The "D" one is the "E" one is not. They make two of the same size. Look for RWL (raised white lettering) and I think you'll find it's severe rated. Most BSW are not, most RWL are. Sometimes there are two for a size.
Now you guys have me curious... If D and E (RWL and BSW) are both the same size, shape and have the same tread pattern, why would 8 ply make a difference in severe snow over 10 ply? Are there differences in materials that Im not taking into account? Or is this just a marketing thing?
I'm not telling you it's snow rated because of the lettering, I'm saying because of the lettering you can tell which one's are snow rated. You'll want to double check before you buy, but I've looked at just about every one of the tires at some point and you could tell which were snow rated based on which one's had RWL or BSW. I don't know if the materials are different or the tread pattern (but it looked like the tread pattern was a little tighter on one of the BSW).
