Well guys I have narrowed it down to these three and am leaning toward the QSSB. Does anyone have any experience with this turbo or any of the three listed and what do you think? I am looking for any and all input on all of these chargers and which is the best for my application.
never did here anything about that wide open turbo. it seems from what i heard that it is made to spool up fast, but suffers on the top end. the h2e turbos spool fairly quick with stage 2's though and they provide plenty of air!!!! call wide open and ask how many cfm that turbo can provide. the stock h2e is 900cfm and the modded h2e is like 1100cfm or 1200cfm
Blake, you know what I have for a turbo. Like we talked about I considered the QSSB also but I went with the modded H2e because of my applications. If you do plan to tow in the future especially with the camper we spoke of and with II's I would do what I did again. I do not regret anything I did when I got my turbo. Just my opinion.
If you don't plan to tow then you may be fine with the QSSB. It is a cheaper option if I remember.
Like I said if I were to do it again I wouldn't change a thing. I love my H2e.

I would have to agree with ya Mr. Neal. The research that I did when I was in the hunt for a new turbo pointed to that size of Holset's.
what are ya'lls thoughts on a d66?i have been considering the d66,h2e,and the qssb, any thoughts?
The D66 is a good turbo if you are running Stage I injectors and you aren't going to be doing a lot of heavy towing. It spools fast and pushes a lot of air but it won't last long with boost numbers over 38-40psi. It's cheaper and would be good for racing and light towing. If you run a D66 i'd definately do an intercooler also.
If you plan on Stage II injectors and/or heavy towing I'd go Modded H2E. Great for high horsepower, spools a little slower but more top end if you have the mods to push it. You'll need electric fuel, good HPOP, and Stage II's. Again, Intercooler is a must.
thanks Brown Falcon, not sure which one but may have to drop d66,dont tow all the time but do tow heavy, looking for a 6 0 intercooler rite now gonna do that with any mods.lookig to get in the 400-450 hp range.what is the differance in a h2e vs a h2e modified
I have talked to Jacob at wide open performance who has a h2e on his truck and he said that he rode in a customers truck after they installed a QSSB and now he is buying one for his truck. Jacob said it is a 64mm inducer and I did not ask about the exducer size although I will probably call and find out. The QSSB is designed on a S300 charger and is very upgradable like the h2e. It was designed for the 400-450hp guys and to be comparable to the stock h2e with quicker spool. Acording to wide open performance it has a broader map than the h2e which means it spools faster and has more top end than the stock h2e or at least this is my understanding. I have been trying to get ahold of Bean's for three days now with no success and no call back. Is this normal? Is there a better way to get in touch with them other than calling? I would like to talk to them about the modded h2e.
Thanks for alll the input guys and keep it coming!

As I understand the d66 it will not hold together with consistent pressures above 30-33 psi. It is basically a stock turb but modified. It still has the same type and size of bushings our stock ones have so it is mainly good for stage I's and under.
If you are looking at 400-450 you will have to go with stage II's at a minimum and a H2e or QSSB for a turbo. The d66 will noy fit the bill. You will also need more mods too. FYI, I ran 413 hp last month with the mods in my sig.
The difference between the H2e and the modded H2e is the regular H2e is a 62 mm wheel. The modded one gets the housing machined and a 66 mm wheel gets put in there. it gives approximately 200 more cfm at 40% over stock. You go from 900 cfm to 1100 cfm. It is about a $500-$600 upgrade but worth it if you want big numbers and flow. It helps keep it cooler too.
When you speak with Beans try to talk to Ryan Bean, he goes by Bean.
Also try to contact Luke Cline. I think he hangs out at PSN mostly. He knows quite a bit about what you need to know. I spoke with him before I built my truck.
Blake it might not hurt to call Cale at BTS about the turbos either. They do business with WOP and probably have a good idea about the QSSB, I believe. They also run the modded h2e's in all their trucks currently and the stock h2e's before that. There might be some good side by side comparisons with racing/towing/pulling right there as they do all of it with theirs (between Brian, Cale, and Justin).
My vote when I upgrade is the modded h2e like Neals.
BTW- Neal, did you have to modify the crap out of your firewall to get the downpipe to fit properly? I'm going to be putting the SD setup on the 95 and will run the 4" dp before I go with the h2e. I'll have the motor out so access to reshape will not be a problem. I'll go with the SD h2e setup when I do. Is that what you have?
