a Puzzler
The thread is locked so here I am with my own thread!
I have a strange idle issue. The truck seems to idle low (600rpm) and rough (oil pressure starts bouncing around and falls below what the sensor can read) this happens with the clutch fully engaged in neutral.
If I rest my foot on the clutch, just enough to move it a bit, the idle picks up by ~150rpm to about 750-800 where i would expect/like it to idle. It smooths out and oil pressure is constant in the normal range. I don't believe I am disengaging the clutch much at all at this point.
At first I thought this might have something to do with the clutch interlock switch - I tested it and realised the interlock switch is activated much lower than the little bit I press to make this happen.
My understanding of how computerised fuel injection works is that the computer wants the idle to be what ever it should be, for arguments sake lets say 700rpm. If I'm somehow adding load or removing it it should adjust. This leads me to think my IAC valve may be the culprate?
Some clarification: 89 F150 302 4spd (T19?) truck has A/C removed
Thanks for the help!
