very high idle
i have a 2002 super duty 4 wd gas v8 , in nuetral it revs to about 3 k and in drive its like the cruise control is stuck on . The cruise does not work anymore either, i just noticed it. when i disconnect the battery for 1 hour and reconnect it , it drives just fine. still no cruise control but no high idle. after a day or so it goes back to high idle. i looked for a blown fuse and found nothing blown. please help

I'm not too sure how the cruise control system works on the older SDs, but have you tried pulling the fuse for the cruise? Or disconnecting the cruise motor?
Could your throttle body be sticking?

Might want to check and see if any trouble codes are present. I suspect it could be your MAP sensor.
Also...did you ever get the Cruise Control recall done? Maybe they didn't do the job properly.
