Your lucky that you have caliper bolts, I'd die for them. My '04 has these stupid compression spring thingy's and you need to be built like the hulk to get them back on.

My '04 has caliper bolts which use Torx 45 for removal. I understand you about the compression stiff spring which you can see from the outside that puts pressure on the outside brake pad. I struggled with it like you until I figured out the technique which made it twice as easy. I get the bottom end of spring in correct place and move the top end near where it needs to go and then give it a firm rap with a medium size rubber mallet. You may have to try it a few times to get hang of it, but once you do it successfully, it will take a lot of the aggrevation away.

mine is also a torx 45. i was told that it was a 9mm hex and i searched for 2 days every tool & hardware store in town. till i found it in a set at sears (last stop and most expensive). then i get to the job and find out that its just a t45 torx that i had all along.
Thanks for the help it was a hex and was the 9mm. Job done. New to the site and it is a great reference tool. Keep up the good work!
Welcome and stayed tuned in with us. It's a great social site as well. There are other forums that are not truck or auto related and open to general conversation. Look around and become a supporter.
Ok it is a hex but can't find a 9 mm. All the sets that I have go from 8 mm to 10 mm. I checked at Sears and they don't have a 9 mm.
A good place to go is AutoZone they had the 9mm hex you're looking for, we have an 05 and we just replaced the brake caliper and come to find out that after trying to bleed the brakes a brake line failed
