Well my tires are 11.5-12 inches wide... And I do pull a 11000 pound trailer about 30 miles each tank. But I set cruise control at 65 mph everyday on my 5 mile trip to and from school. Otherwise I drive pretty easy.
65 to 57 speed adjustment with my 3.55 gears (you did not say which you have) made in the neighborhood of 2 MPG difference on mine. 11.5 - 12 inch wide tires are not helping either. The 5 mile trips to school do not allow your truck to actually get fully warmed up. With these working against you it seems you are already in the hole before you get very far.
Should I plug it in to keep it warm? And I have 4.10s. But I don't drive like a maniac, but if you don't atleastdo the speed limit you get run over... 65 is the speed limit.
Plugging in will still not let the engine get to operating temperature, especially in the summer when the temps are not that low. It will help in colder weather.
I thought I would "get run over" on the interstates here in Ohio at 57 but that is not the case. I do keep an eye on the mirrors and either pull off or speed up if a line is building and if I go to pass someone I get up to the speed of surrounding traffic with a bit of haste. It is more a matter of getting used to the speed. Same chore when I went from a 90 mph big truck to a governed 65 mph truck for the same company several years ago. I thought I would "get run over", especially on I-80 in Pennsylvania when running to the east coast, but once I was accustomed to the speed it was not a big deal, just a lot of right lane work.
I used to always say on here, no matter what mods I do I can't improve my mileage. I even went a far as to say that MPG was the most lied about subject on automobiles. I didn't make any friends saying that! Anyway, I actually did a mod that improved my mileage, the adrenaline. I drive 70 and was getting 13mpg, now at 70 I get 15.7, no LIE!!
All those short trips and the short trailer pulling are probably most of your reason. If you can make up an excuse, you should try doing a 150-200 mile interstate drive, probably round trip, at 60-65 mph, to get a base line of mpg. This would be the most consistent way to see where you are at.

Matts right around, here the speed limit doesnt mean alot theyll only ticket you for going faster than the flow of traffic, even if that flow is at 80mph (which it often is) BUT..... Since he doesnt drive like a maniac, I just though Id ask him to remind me how far over the limit you were when got that ticket a couple weeks ago when you left my house. didnt you say 74 in a 55? No maniac activities there. lol
That was mergeing into that same flow of traffic... at 11 at night where it was a construction zone... It's a bull**** ticket... But I was not even hit rodding the truck or anything, just trying to merge on the high way to then get in a pocket where I can slow down... Owel. I might have to try the "road trip" one ofthese days.
Fort Collins, I built an Mustang for a buddy of mine who lives up there... and it still runs today! lol Fort Collins is a nice town.
I was under my truck today to look, and no extra soot any where... didnt look like an exhaust leaks.
I am going to try and get a boost gauge on the truck, until i can buy the matching ISSPRO gauge.
I do have stock exhaust... so i may take it to a shop to have the muffler and cat cut out of it and have a 4 inch pipe welded in place... I cannot afford a Down pipe righ tnow.
Also are the intake plenums the orange things that go to the two intake boxes? I will look at those tonight... how would I go about sealing those?

The plunems are the "intake boxes" you're asking about that run the length of both heads. Look closely around where they bolt to the head like I said earlier.
To reseal, you need to remove them from the heads, clean both surfaces really well, then use some high pressure/high temp/high dollar Ford Grey sealant.
A downpipe will be the best first mod you can do to your truck. Try to find a way to get rid of that flat stock DP. That and the cat. Then see how your EGTs are. Do you work on your race car? Doing those mods to your truck should be a lot easier than working on a race car.
BTW i still have that fuel tank just sitting on my back porch in its box...
Thanks, I'm still trying to find out when my dad is coming up here again. Haven't really gotten a clear picture on that yet. When I find out, I'll let you know.
I also agree, the downpipe and cat deletion will be much more beneficial than the rest right now.
I do all the work my self. The poblem is, I am now in college, and have no source of income... I have 800 bucks to my name, and that has to last me til christmas...
