Hey all! Newbie here trying to figure my way around. I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions as I'm trying to restore my Grandfather's 1956 F100 Big Window. All I can say now is that I'm glad this forum is here. I've been hanging out reading some posts and it's nice to see all the help that's out there!

Well welcome to FTE. If you have any questions feel free to ask but you may find answers by using the search section some people don't like repeating the info they release. Your 56 Big window is sweet. I myself live in WA. TriCities here. Kurt G.
Thanks evveryone. I suppose most of the stuff I need to do to this truck is not "restoration" as what I've seen here on some of these pages so "cleanup" is probably more accuraten to say. I think it feels like a restoration project though cuz when I say I'm new, I'm new. Green Newbie all the way. LOL. Took me forever just to find the casting numbers on the engine. Ha! I'll be sure to look through the posts though so people don't have to repeat themselves too much anyways.
Thanks again for the welcome!

Welcome to FTE! Ask anything you like. Looks like you have a great project to work on.
Noticed the gas tank has been moved to under the bed, did you do this or was it like this when you got it?

Hey 9teen56f100,
I had the old gas tank pulled to get that little extra space in the cab and get rid of the gas fumes. LOL The guy I had paint the truck installed the tank for me. Now I just gotta get the bed wood. I want to clean up the running gear first so some plywood is going to have to due for now.
Welcome Aboard!..Looks like you have a fine start in your truck!
Most of us decide the first thing we want to do to our old trucks,..is tear them apart, then try to fiqure out over the next ten years how to put it back together and what goes where...Keep yours a driver as long as you can! You will enjoy it more!
Glad to have you with us!
