I'm Charlie, and going to be moveing to your great state over the next couple of months
Congrats on the purchase and best of luck with your move and your new property. Sounds really nice.
I want to go to Cherry Point one day and just see my old stomping ground. Ride around the base and see how Havelock NC has grown!!
Hey! My wife is from Pamlico county. And I have been going down east my whole life. Beach, boating, fishing, etc... I'm very familiar with Havelock, well there's not much there but, very familiar with the layout and surrounding areas. Lots of good trails in Pamlico and Craven Counties.
Also, Cherry Point MCAS hasn't changed a bit so you'd probably feel right at home when you visit.
We boat around Oriental/Dawson's Creek and run the ditch (Adam's Creek) to Morehead and Shackleford often. Lots of good fishing.
cool. those areas are not real far from lumberton. sounds like when things settle in, we can do some gtg's. one of the things we want to build is a pavilion, so that we can have a good cook out for friends and guests. I'm getting real excited about all of this
A weekend review: (fairly boring but thought I'd share)
Here's a brief overview;
A pretty good weekend overall. Spent time with family and friends. Carried a gaggle of folks all over Saturday.
Friday: Exhaust can on bike decided to fall off on way to work. Held on with one bolt. Broke clean in two from a old rusty weld. Tried to fix with muffler wrap but it's a lost cause. Took it completely off Friday night. Ordered new el-cheapo can and mid pipe from ebay.
Saturday: Went to visit great aunt that is recovering from major surgery to remove some cancer. She is doing very well considering her condition.
Went from her house to the hospital to visit my wife's childhhood friend that is recovering from a stroke. He's 40 with three kids. Entire right side is parallyzed. Can hardly talk. Says yes and no and mixes them up on occasion. I wheeled him around the atrium for a while then had to split.
Went from hospital to home where my wife and I visited our next door neighbor whose son (42) died of an apparent heart attack on Friday. Gave our condolences and offered our help. So sad.
Still Saturday, still with me?
From neighbors, took kids to brother in law's to visit and then leave them with the outlaws (in laws ) while we all went to a NC State football game. Six of us total in the excursion. Packed with coolers and food. Had a great time at game. (see photo)
From game went to see a band play outside at a club. Took all six of us and had a blast listening to the band and talking smack. Stayed out way too late.
Sunday: Paying for previous night, kids woke us up toooooo early. Missed church as we were helping neighbor with preperations for people visiting.
Took kids to a going away party for friends and members of our church. Pool party. Pool was freeeezing. Kids loved it. Had a great time talking and eating good food. Spent most of the afternoon there.
Got home. Washed up kids. Usual night time routine and spent rest of evening with wife.
If you read this far, thanks. Hope ya'll had nice weekends as well. Have a good week.
