Running Like Crap

I have a 1994 f-150 with a 5.8 that generally runs good. Here within the last few months it's been acting really strange. It has a 5spd and when going through the gears i've been noticing kind of a dead spot in the rpms range. It will climb rpms but very slowly and then all at once it will take off like a bat out of hell. I just replaced the tps on it today and it did no good . Any suggestions?

Are the plugs and wires good? How long since it had air filter and fuel filter. Might want to see if there are any trouble codes stored.

Try pulling any trouble codes that might be stored. If you don`t have a code reader go to fordfuelinjection.com and from the list on the right click on OBD1 self test for instructions on how to without one.
