Well, the wires were cut for a reason. I think it might be that the sending unit was replaced or maybe the whole tank was. So there's no guarentee that the wire colors would match up. But I would look at the wires coming out of the tank and see what color they are then look for similar colored wires further up the frame, follow the fuel lines there should be some kind of junction where they join up with a larger wire loom. They might have cut the wires and then electrical taped them back to the larger wire loom.
A electrical diagram might not even help, depends on what was changed.
This is just not good mechanic work, or even shade tree work. It's more like let's sabatoge the Bronco work.
