HI
I checked my Trans fluid and it seems that when its cold the level is too high and when I checked it when it was hot I got no reading. Not a drop on the stick.
Not sure what to think.
Am I doing something wrong or is this the way its suppose to read. The Truck is new to me.
2005 PSD 6.0L
Thanks
Are you checking it with the motor running and trans. in park? be sure and set parking brake..That is the only thing I can think of that would give you such wide variance in readings.
Okay
I did check it with the Truck running and in Park but I did not have the parking brake on. I'm going to give it a better run and then check it again. Could it be it was not hot enough for a good reading? Just strange that when cold its just over the full and after a short run I got nothing on the stick.
Parking brake is just for safety, has nothing to do with the actual readings. I would be inclined to bring it up to scale when hot. You should have 2 different scales 1 for cold and 1 for hot. Makes more sense to be up to proper level at hot setting since that is the temp. you will be at most of the time..Make sure the dipstick is returned all the way in,but Iam sure you did this.. maybe someone else will have some input here..
