Signal Light Switch

My 1977 f-150's signal light switch is toast. The lever has no resistant and my lights don't work at all. Can I just replace the switch or do I have a bigger issue. I have a 1979 with tilt, how hard would it be to swap over. I need to get this fixed, help please!

If i'm reading you correctly you're referring to your turn signal switch, they're easy to replace and will set you back about 70-90 bucks, just pull your steering wheel and the rest is pretty self explanatory, check the obvious stuff first though e.g. bulbs, grounds, wires, shorts, etc.

Three different turn signal switches were used on 1973/77 F100/350's:

With A/T / With M/T / Or 1975/77 with Cruise Control.

Which one do you have?

The A/T & M/T switches are available from Ford, the Cruise Control only switch is obsolete, but there are a few still available.

Swapping steering columns: The columns used 1973/77 are not the same as 1978/79. Modifications will have to be made for the swap to work.

The steering colum is a automatic/colum shift, no power steering, no cruise. What kind of modifications for the swap? Wiring?

D3TZ13341B .. Turn Signal Switch / Use with A/T / Fits: 1973/77 F100/350 & 1975/77 Econoline.

MSRP: $69.98 // FTE sponsor Y2KFORDPARTS.COM price: $50.39 / Y2K = MILLENNIUM FORD in Seattle WA.

1978/79 columns use different turn signal switches, there are other differences why you cannot just swap columns around from year to year.

I've read many posts here on FTE what has to be done, but since this doesn't concern me, I dunno what's involved.

Start a new thread in the 1973/79 forum asking this specific question. Make sure you include these particulars: 2WD with A/T.

If the tilt column you have is from a 4WD....forget about using it in a 2WD.
