97 powerstroke with an e4od 4x4....i noticed that my tranny was winding out first gear sometimes before it shifted and the other day i was a stop sign hit the pedal and nothing i have park no reverse no drive nothing although if i tach out the motor it will engage but just barely i towed it home and just pulled the tranny pan and besides the fluid being toast, there isnt an abnormal amount or metal shavings or whatever in the pan, my question is is the tranny toast could it be the torque convertor/ and if it is the POS e4od tranny then whats the easiest way to do the swap cuz i got a spare e4od thats married to a t-case......any advice would be great....thanks in advance
All I can tell you is not to make the mistake I did if your going to keep your PSD. I've had mine rebuilt twice now, for the cost of the two rebuilds I wish now I would have bought a woods, BTS or I think the third one is called 'racerX or something like that.
