One more quick question

On my 2000 Ford F250 4whl drive truck when the manual says to check the automatic transmission fluid level in the "cold" condition should the engine be in park and idling or engine off? The manual is not clear about this. It does say the ambient temperature should be above 50 degrees F. I am leaving on a trip Tuesday and want to make sure the transmission is at the correct level. Thanks again for any clarification you all can add to this.

The best time to check the ATF level is at full operating temp while it is idling. You should then read the "HOT" level.
