Looking for some decent car alarms and was wondering what you were using to protect your SUV's and trucks? CLifford? Ravelco? Motor Defender? Toad? Lojack?
After installing and using my Compustar P2W900 system, I'm hooked on them. 2 way remote, tap sensor for unlocking and paging the remote, and other toys. I also have a system used in LE that locks out the transmission, so if you bypass the siren and get around the start disable in the alarm, you still have to disarm the transmission lockout to drive off.
With any thing you put in or have put in, the system is only 25% of your protection. Installation is the biggest part, if it's not neatly, securely and out of the way, a decent thief will get around it. A good thief will get around anything, the idea is though to make it as difficult as possible to give them some deterrence and make them move on to an easier target (pick on someone else's honda.) As long as your choice of systems has plenty of Visual and audible warnings it will work to make the vehicle harder.
If you post up your YMM, I'll try to find a tech sheet for you and you can decide if you want to do it yourself or have it professionally installed.
