I've been eying a bolt in ifs from Bob's F100's for about a year. It seems a little more pricey, but I'm drawn to the bolt in feature. Since it doesn't seem to use backing plates, I wonder if it won't twist the frame. So far I don't know if it has failed in use yet or not. I do a search from time to time, but I haven't gotten any new results. Here is a link to a magazine article:
More like an English second. Those of us that installed the Jag IFS are quick to respond. Lots of info. here on the Jag and these have been installed in cars as well ( check out the H.A.M.B.) I also put a Jag IFS in my 48 F1.

I'm using a chassis engineering "bolt in" MII IFS. No welding and no boxing the frame. Very strong cross member. Plus I was able to bolt it in myself and thats what I really liked about it.
If you do the jag install take a look at 48steel he did a very indepth install .I am going to do the jag looks pretty straight forward especially when you have tech build like 48 steel did, and he is not paying me to say this.LoL
Hey you other Jag IFS guys,
I want to use a shock mount that bolts or welds to the side of the frame, both in front of the jag and behind it. but I am struggling with it a bit. I want to use tubing and bend it to what I need. then weld a plate on the inner top of the tubing to mount the top of the shocks. It seems to me very difficult to fab in my garage with the tooling I have available. I have seen 49willard's shock mount, and I have no issue with that, but I can't get this idea out of my head. I need to draw up my design idea and post it here but haven't yet. maybe this will help me get goin! I need a fab shop friend!
Hi I just finished my front mounts, painted them and installed yesterday.
I made them to bolt on the jag crossmember,a bit of hammer work with the inner fenders and they clear.
I will take some photos and add them to the blog. I have had them off and on three times once for fit then some gusset welding then the final paint.
Don'nt know how it happened but I lost the two wing pieces that attach to the rad support and hold the fenders, now I have to scrounge some more!

lol not really! its a picture taken with my wife's phone and it has this special effect thing that makes it look like a sketch. then I printed it, used some white out and some penciling in my idea of the shock mount. then scanned it as a jpeg file, and posted it. pictures are worth a thousand words. and the special effects thing is a big help! LOL I am definately not an artist! but I hope you can see what I am trying to achieve!
I used TCI MII deal in my 51 M-1 and I really like it. Now my 50 F-1 is going to get the Jag series 1 (72) because that's what I have. Going to have to check out 48steels thread for sure.

Does your series one have solid rotors? three puck calipers? The brake rebuild components if needed are significantly more expensive as I remember since those pieces were also E Jag. You can change to series 2 or 3 parts but you would need to change disks, calipers and spindles from a series 2 or 3 XJ.
The 3 puck caliper cores have value to rebuilders.
