5.0 with no air pump (emission) belt lenght

the new engine doesnt has the air pump on whats the lenght of the fanbelt that i need? anyone ever did this??

If it dosn't have the air pump there should be a bracket with an idler pulley on it in its place , then it will use the stock belt . I could give you the number of my belt but i have underdrive pulleys so it wont be the same . Mine is a 95 so i don't know what year yours is & if they are the same ?? ...Lew

with A/C


no i just took the Air pump out i did it before but on a 5.8 i had no probs...

i did remove the A/C and put an idler pully in its place tough

Ok mine is a 950K6 but i use a FR idler where the air pump was . You can just put the old belt on & see how much shorter it has to be or just measure it with some string . You might have to try a few belts , then take back the ones you don't need thats what i did ... Lew

or just buy a smog delete pully for like $35 on ebay that might be cheaper than buying a new belt
