Lately, my front right brake has been squeaking a lot.
It doesn't make any noise when I apply pressure to the pedal,
but it squeaks with no pedal pressure while making a right turn.
According to my manual, brake pressure is "self adjusting".
Maybe so, but they could obviously use a bit of tweaking.
I am fully prepared to yank my wheel off and scratch my head for a while.
I am just hopeful that someone has some tips for me.
Sounds like your pads might be reaching their last usable life. The pads usually have a small piece of metal attached to the trailing end. When the pads get thin, the metal rubs lightly on the rotor and makes it squeal faintly and quits when brakes are applied.
No adjustments here. I agree with unibody62; sounds like the pads are at the end of the road. Pull the wheel off and look at the pad lining through the inspection opening in the caliper.
