The best remover is mayonnaise and it won't damage your paint. Yes, mayo. Spread some on and leave it overnight and then wipe it off and the sap should come right off. It may take multiple applications depending how thick the sap is. You can also use it to get road tar off. I've used it for years and it works like a charm!
Goo gone should remove it. We're talking pine tree sap, right?
I honestly don't know what I was parked under at the time. I thought I was out farther than the limbs of the trees I was next to but I didnt pay attention to what kind they were.

They should have it in the auto body section at the parts store. Just put some wax on the area when you're finished because it will take the wax off.
I already tried that stuff. Worked good for getting the tar off my exhaust tip when the morons around here decided to chipseal a road that was just milled and paved this spring. I got on a little area that wasn't stoned too well an it flung tar all over my exhaust tip. It took that right off with a little rubbing, but it won't touch the sap that's on there.
Neighbors car had the same problem. Nothing would touch it. This sap hardened, and I got it off with a plastic scraper. It breaks like glass, then I used a small amount of brake cleaner to get the residue. Don't use so much as to harm the paint. You might want to try something a little more gentle as the residue isn't that difficult.
We have white pines here, and they do not sap, but they put yellow pollen over everything, including up your nose. Great for allergies.jd
