I am doing final staging for the parts to finish my 347 and install it.
For the intakes, can I use the mustang gt/cobra/R uppers and lowers assuming I can adapt the air hoses?
I am running the FMS T51 mass air kit, and 19lb/hr injectors - Im gonna stay here at first, then look for a recal-MAF and 24lb injectors at a later date.
are the EVP, TPS, ISC etc connectiosn the same plug type?
it appears to me that the gt40/R intakes can be flipepd to put the TB on EITHER side of the engine? true?
Yes this has been done and the Explorer intake is part of the GT40 family BTW. The sensors are in the same place with the exception of the ACT on some versions, Ford moved it to the airbox on some vehicles so there isn't even a bung for it in the lower intake, people have drilled and tapped a hole for it sucessfully though and it should be locatated in the intake for a mustang computer, readings will be out of range otherwise. The TPS and EGR will be off to the side obviously compared to a truck so some wiring harness messaging may be necessary. Vacuum line and air ducting should be relatively easy to fit just using some junkyard parts or aftermarket intake tubing to connect the TB to the airbox.
Have you gotten your 347 running yet? I got a 347 from blue print engines and a mass ait converion from dunneright and MAF calibrated for 24 lb injectors. I used the stock efi intake. The truck will start and idle rough if the throttle is held down to over 2k rpms and then it will suddenly die sometimes 10 seconds and sometimes 15 seconds. I have a fuel pressure gauge hooked up to the shrader valve while it is running and it only dips 2 psi when it starts and stays at 30 psi. The exhaust smells normal, not to rich or lean. I also noted that with the new computer the fuel pump stays on after the engine dies. Everything ran fine before I put the new engine in. I replaced the stock 5.0 because of the mileage and lack of power. Any help would be great!
