low oil pressure????

low oil pressure????
my 95 has low oil pressure and can't figure out why?? carries 0-2 lbs at an idle and maybe up to 10 lbs at 1500-1700 rpms, 2500 rpms its around 20-25 psi. the engine doesn't knock ar make any unusual sounds or anything. i'm nevous though that i'm gonna drive it down the road and parts are gonna fly. anybody else ever had this problem before? any help would be appreciated.

On top of the HPOP, there is a little elbow connector on a post. It's small and on the left side of it when looking from the front. Pull that thing off and clean it. I had to pinch mine with pliers to keep it from acting up. I don't think it is a really accurate gauge, but it lets me know my HPOP is low at start up. haha.
You didn't say if you had a different gauge, so I'm assuming your talking about the stock one.

i checked pressure from a little plug ttthat threaded out down buy the oil filter with a manual gauge.. no i didn't check the bypass valve yet. you sure that'll cause low pressure?
