the seal is broken, I just can't find what its hung up on by where the starter slides in. I think it can just be yanked out, but I can't put any pressure on my fingers. I already resplit them open with the wrench...lol.

Well maybe you need the fingers to heal a little before you try again...have you tried posting in the Older Classic Truck forums, you might find someone who knows, it's worth a try.

Its loose. I talked to my brother, who has a 51 Fordor, same engine. He said to lift and haul it out, but cuz of my finners I can't. Course as stubborn as I am, I'm gonna try tomorrow...lol.
