I bought the car with a blown motor. For $350 I decided that it was one of those deals not to be passed up. After pulling the motor out of the mustang (I already had the T-Bird motor) I could see through the hole in the oil pan that there was damage to the block.
That sounds like an awesome deal. I am going to be pulling the 460 out of our 88 F250 and building that for my Stang while I put a nice new 460 in the F250. That truck has been thru alot and deserves new now.
Its actually doesnt look that hard. Can do it with only changing the K-member to a tubular. it actually drops the motor downso the tranny bolts up with no other mods done. i got pics of a 460 in a Foxbody Stang already.
But I would have to change the wiring harness and tach as well, going from V6 to V8. The front suspension would have to be upgraded also. Perhaps it may be in the cards later but not for now.
Oops......I didnt think about all that. When I drop mine in it is going to be carburated due to running it down the track also. So it will be more of a track car than a street driver. I have to redo all the wiring in the car from the headlights to taillights. That will be fun.
We ended up have the smallest possible G2G, but it was fun none the less. Great weekend of racing, nice weather, cold beverages, you all missed out! Hopefully there'll be more of us next time.
Good afternoon everyone. How is everyone doing today?
Michelle (please forgive me if I miss spelled your name) didn't you say that the Vegas race was in March? I was just on the LVMS web site and they are saying Feb 26-28. Perhaps this is a different race weekend than you were talking about. Could you please verify for me? Thank you.
BTW on the way back I clocked 17.5 MPG with my 460
