A/C and Advance Trac Problems

A/C and Advance Trac Problems
I am having a couple of problems with my 2007 Expedition (25k miles).
The A/C (front and back) goes completely cuts out while I am driving for and stays out for about an hour. This has happened three times. Something strange happens right before the A/C cuts out… when you press the fan up button the fan blows lower and when you push the fan lower button you fan blows higher. Other than that problem the A/C works great.
Another problem I am having is that when I am driving the car with the Advance Trac (car with the lines under it) appears in the odometer area. It goes away rather quickly.
I am not sure if the problems are related or it could be an electrical issue….please help.

Thanks Barry...we can always count on you....
I am now dealing with a new problem....the parking brake light is on and dinging even though the parking brake is not engaged..I am more and more thinking that it is an electrical problem. Too many things happening at the same time.
