suddenly running rich
I recently moved and hauled several heavy loads. My injection pump is about a year old with a year old after market fuel filter and an electric lift pump and year old injectors. I noticed it sounds different and smokes much more and uses more fuel, although it has always used too much fuel. That's why I bought all the new stuff...trying to improve my fuel economy. Do you suppose my new [rebuilt] injection pump went south? It hasn't lost any power to speak of. Just went from 15 to 10 mpg, smokes heavily if I put my foot in it and makes a puk-a-puka sound.

The fuel filter isn't a year old, it was installed a year ago...the element was changed about 3 months ago...I haven't been using additive consistently, lately, although, when I remember I add fppf fuel treatment. I've tried several fuel treatments and noticed no difference in performance or gas mileage.

i have been using the sulfer additave and the , i think its Diesel heet... next time i go outside i will check the bottle to be sure. but without those 2 i get about 14-15 with them i get about 17-17.5..... orielly is where i was gettin it but it is now discontinued...
