So, been a while since an update. Spent the last 10 days with a damn cold, so, didn't get a whole lot done. New flanges welded on to the pass. box side. Welded up most of it from the backside, to cut down on grinding.

The box side patch from LMC is nice, but, it has a pretty good twist
in it from the stamping process. So, I'm only going to use part of it, to patch in the back end of the box side.

Since I want to weld this on initially, with the box bolted down in place, I had to move the cab forward, so I could get at the front flange. So, just propped the cab up on some 2x4's to move it forward.

Dang Pat, nice work and progress. The panel you got from LMC, how was the thickness verses the original?

It is going to be worth all the effort amigo. I love watching it come together, cuz its like a trip down memory lane. only yours is going to be much better. After reading this post, I went out and started my truck this evening, and just listened to it purr at an idle, with barely a vibe in the stick.

Congratulations on the progress..

It seems to be pretty close. The panel was made by a company in Ohio, so, that's a plus. Just has a pretty wicked twist in it, otherwise, I may have used the whole panel! I will probably do the same thing on the drivers side. Not liking all the patching I had to do there.

I ordered the drivers side from LMC yesterday, I'll get that panel done next week, then need to figure out the gas filler door.

Was the panel made by Tabco Parts?

The patch is all fitted up. I tacked it while it was still on the truck, so it would be in the correct spot. Then, pulled it off, and welded it from the back side. really cuts down on the grinding.
