does anybody know how much boost a Aurora 3000 with a wicked wheel is capable of on a 2004 6.0?? also how much boost ccan the stock heads/studs handle?
Wicked wheel is a 7.3 thing. As far as boost goes it's a toss up. I've seen them puke at 28. I've seen them hold at 35. It depends on what condition they're in to start with.
Another thing is that the Aurora 3000 actually does better for the Dodges then it does for the Fords. I know of only 2 people that have used it and they weren't totally happy with it.
to answer both your questions no and no. lifting the cab or pulling the engine is for bigger stuff like Head Gaskets, and Internals. The turbo sits near the top, i hear it takes a couple hours to remove especially if it's your first time and you don't have all the tools layed out.
thanks guys! one more thing.. do you have to lift the cab to get to the turbo on a 03/04 or is that only on 05 and newer?
No cab lifting required for turbos. To make it MUCH easier take the degas bottle loose (two bolts-8mm wrench) THEN take the wiring harness that runs across the top of the firewall where the hood seals---round plastic clips/christmas trees, then all the associated plumbing. 03's and 04's before 9/29/03 have a different turbo bolt location than later 04's. You will need an 11mm deep socket or 7/16 deep socket, 10mm socket and/or 10 mm flexhead ratchet wrench, and some extensions to get it off. Takes about 30 minutes or less with a little practice. Right side CAC tube comes off and air intake comes off. Turn the turbo on it's side and twist it out. NOTICE where the turbo oil drain is. it goes back in first
