problem changing starter; HELP!

I need to change the starter on my 85 F250 4x4 that has a 460 engine with hooker competition headers. Problem is that I cant get the starter out because the headers are in the way and I cant seem to get them moved. It's a two piece header where the tube for cyl #4 is separated where it bolts to the exhaust port of the head and the other end slips into the tube before it gets to the collector. It LOOKS like I should be able to just remove the bolts to this tube where it attaches to #4 port on the head, loosen the hose clamp and slide the tube up and out of the way so the starter can clear. I've tried that and it doesnt seem to move enough out of the way. I've also unbolted the complete header from the head and the collector from the exhaust pipe. I cant get the header to come out or move out of the way enough to clear the starter for removal. My question is this: Is there an easy way to do this or any special tricks? I'm going nuts trying to change this in 110 deg heat here in AZ. Thanks, Zeus

Welcome to the headaches of having headers. You might have to pull the sparkplugs, jack the truck way up, and drop the whole header out.
