Axle Swap

I have a 78' 1/2 ton short bed with a 400. I would like to put 3/4 axles on it....with a 4'' lift (manufacturer to be determined). What is required for this transformation? Will 3/4 springs bolt up to the existing spring hangers? Drive lines match, etc.?

Thanks!

Clint

if it was me i would use a sterling rear end.they are heavier built than a dana 60,have out board drums and bigger brakes.for the front axle i would keep the stock suspension and swap the hubs and brake hangers and calipersfrom a 3/4 ton with a 44.i have done that in the past so it does work some say you cant do it but you can.

it dependes on how big of a tire you want to go to. If larger than a 35" go with a d60 in the front. you can put a d44 out of a 3/4 ton. Go to wwwBroncoGraveyard.com they have the wedges to weld to your axles and they are a direct bolt in. your should have a d44 now if you want 8 lugs just change your knuckles and spindels and rotors.
