well i got two days a week off now { omigawd waht'll i do !!!!!!! }and today after the usual mundane things like the yard i played some ...........got the extra front springs apart , cleaned , chamfered and waiting on poly liner and some paint to go back together . also played with my seat . the seat in question is out of the 84 f150 4x4 that donated the front hub and spindle assembly for me to make caliper brackets out of { yeah played with them too , but after breaking a couple of allen wrenches i wandered away before throwing them at something } . any way the bottom of it's frame is the same exact width as the track in our 53 - 56 effies . i had to make a pie cut in the front of its rails , look in the pics you'll see why , and now i gotta weld 'em up later on . sat it in the truck to see how she'd fit as again you can see in the pics , and i have to cut the top frame and narrow it 1/2 to 3/4 inches per side to clear the back of the cab , and narrow just the foam up on the bottom of it , all this will get done along with the welding when i strip it down to recover , etc. . i think one of these would actually fit quite well in you guy's with the 57- 60's without any bull . also a shot of the wheel with the oe , but broken badly , horn button lopped down to fit , and obviously i haven't painted it yet . i have to cut the column cover , and i got spares , 1/2 inch to let it slide down all the way when tightening it up so it doesnt rub the top of the cover . the flatty still spins over nice and easy despite sitting now with the upper end off , in the garage for how long ?????????? no ridge around the top of the cylinders that is perceptible to me , and no i haven't torn into the valve spring swap yet either . i had a really screwed up schedule !!!!!!!!! also some pics of the finished base of the chubby dizzy we cut down . it's back together but i gotta wander back up to athens , get it , and trial fit it and make sure everything is a ok before the electronic conversion , adjustable vacuum advance and spring kit get's ordered . welp gotta wander now fellers and dames >>>>>>>>> got places to do abd peeps to see while the wifey is outta town Attachment 17298
the rest and cheers go have a frosty one !!!!!!!!!!!!Attachment 17301
Attachment 17302 oh yeah just for a mention guys , i havent actually gotten to doing it yet but , it in measuring and eyeballing appears the blower motor out of a 93 - 97 thunderbird is gonna fit into my oe housing , giving me the stock look and a variable speed motor ! so add that one to your list of donor cars for parts ...................
