I have a 92' Bronco with 351W. After rebuilding the motor, my smog pump locked up and I had to gut it so that I could drive. That was a couple of months ago. Last week I burnt a hedder gasket. So, to make it easier to change the gasket I have been removing all of the smog lines as well as the EGR system. The EGR removal is complete. I plugged the hole going from EGR to hedder's. I also installed EGR iliminator from RJM inj tech. I also got the plugs to plug thermactor ports on the back of the heads. I was removing the exhaust crossover tube and there is a rubber hose connected to a 3/4? inch metal hose running to one of the exhaust pipes.
I was not expecting to find this hose and I don't know what it is. Please help me by telling me what it is and how I can remove this system without damaging something. I'm working on this now and will check back often.
I'm still looking for help with this. I think it is the tube that runs to the cats. I am new at this. I know my truck has aftermarket pipes and muffelers. How do I know if the cats have been removed? Can I leave this open? Do I need to plug it? can I remove the cats? How? I know this is a lot of questions, I just need some answers want to get the Bronc back on the road.
