i own a 1987 f150 4x4 and when i'm at a stand still and rev the engine the rpms hang up for about 2 to 3 seconds. dosen't matter if it's warmed up or not. had the codes read and no codes came up. could it be the tps. i forgot to mention it's 5.0 fuel injected engine, and it has a manuel trans. if it is the tps how do i check it. i figured if it was bad it would show a code. any help would be grateful thanks maggilla colorado springs co.
I would first disconnect the throttle cable at the plenum and manually rev it up and see what happens. That will let you know if it is the cable binding or not. You may also have a bad return spring on her but try that first and let us know how you make out.
