Starter button
Been noticing that sometimes all I here is a click when pushing the stater button on my 53. After pushing it again one sometimes three times it starts. Since I am hearing a click, I am thinking the button is ok and that I might be having celinoid problems. It is a chevy 350.

A single click, is usually an indicator of a faulty solenoid, or starter. Since you have to click it a few times, it usually means there is deposit build up on the contact plate inside the solenoid, creating a no current situation in the solenoid. You are hearing the solenoid operate the plunger, but the no turn is a lack of flow through the contact plate.
