Ok...I'm just a little confused.
I have an 86 F350 CC dually with the 460/C6 setup. What is the location of the fuel pump? Is it in the tank or inline?
I am considering removing some auxilliary saddle tanks off of my 77 F350 and installing them on my 86, but I am not sure how to pump the fuel. The 77 has a mechanical pump on the engine. What would be the best way to pump fuel from auxillary tanks? Aftermarket inline pump, or can i plumb them into the existing pumps (if they are inline)? If they are intank pumps, can I run an inline pump for the extra tanks with out hurting the intank pumps?
I need some guidance here, so thanks for your help.
I may be wrong (as I often am) but as I understand it the 86 F350 w/7.5L was an electric fuel pump. There is no mechanical fuel pump on this engine, and I can not find any aftermarket pumps either. One book made an obscure reference to an inline pump, but my Ford buddies say it is in the tank.
