You can make any thing run with the proper amount of money, all of these are not cheap to make serious hp with, yes psd do require more money than some cause injectors are not cheap, but build a serious injection pump and your talkin big money too, a P Pump putting out close to 1000cc of fuel will cost 4k to have built, now that is some serious fuel, the old idi motors used a rotory pump, they will never put out the fuel that a inline or v pump will produce, but it can be a good pump with the right mods, we are in the process of putting a V8 Mack pump on a 7.3idi, the pump is off a E9 500 engine, thats a 998ci mack v8, that pump in stock form will drownd the 7.3 out but if we get it to mount up that will be all the fuel that motor can handle, hardest part is gonna be driving the pump off the front of the motor, once thats done the rest is just simple, and the pre chambers in the heads dont help out the situation either.... but it can and will be done, i personally am going a whole nother route, dt360, got one and im making the adapter plate as we speak to mount my zf-5 tranny to the inline, look out cummins guys....

Well DO NOT USE the engine you have that has sleeves installed. That block is just scrap iron in my book ask Dave S how he feels about that. The White hypermax truck made a ton of power but the block flexed so much on the first run the block plugs fell out the IDI just can not take that level of stress. The IDI is a good reliable engine on the street but you are not going to be seeing 500HP from it.
