anybody got any pics of theyre DP Tuner mounted in there dash? Im going to be placing an order for theyre F5 or F6 tomorrow and getting only 4 or 5 custom burned levels, and noticed they have a dash mounting kit and they only have pics of it mounted in newer powerstrokes.. anyone??
I never took a pic when I had it mounted but let me try to describe.
On the small black trim to the left of the wheel, I popped that trim out and cut a large enough hole in the dash (lowest point in the recess still to be covered by the trim) so the switch plug would fit in the hole. Then I trimmed the black trim piece to fit around the plug, too, and used stick-on velcro to hold the switch to the trim piece. I was able to get an extra trim piece from someone parting out their truck, so when I took the DP chip/switch out, I just popped the stock trim back in.
I will be selling the modded trim piece with my DP chip, whenever I get around to selling it...
DP doesn't sell a **** type switch, theirs is an electronic switch, square thingy about 2" x 1" with up/down buttons on it and a digit indicator of switch position 1 - 16. Kind of difficult to get used to for me, but once I did I really liked it. Kind of miss it now...

who did you get the chip from??
the pic looks like a TS switch/chip, DP-tuner's web site does not show an option for a rotary **** for the F5 or F6 as far as I can tell
I know RubberDuck was able to talk Jody into a custom switch for his DP Tuner, give Jody a call and see if he can do the same for you. FWIW, I love the Ex switcher with the JMS in-dash mount in my SD.
They must have had a change of heart because I was not able to get a switch from them for nothing.
And the way I understand it is you can pull their tunes (if you have the right software) off a TS chip, so keeping their tunes on their chips helped to protect their stuff.

???
Rubber Duck's setup is a one-off and I think he had to do some major sweet talking to get Jody to do it. He has a push/pull switch mounted on his stick shift.
