Code P1507

1st time the Expo threw a code, P1507, Idle Air Control under speed error. The wife said it was hesitating, I didn't drive it but ran the codes. I've read that cleaning the IAC helps big time, so that is what I'll do first. Anything else that I need to do?
Thanks,
John

Does it stall when idling? Mine got really rough and I cleaned it and hasn't caused a problem in 30,000 miles. Some don't get that lucky!

You can check the IAC solenoid resistance. I believe it is supposed to be about 10 ohms. You can also disconnect the IAC valve while the engine is running, iff there is no change in rpms, you have a stuck or damaged valve. You can try cleaning it along with the throttle body and see if that helps.

My wife said it wanted to stall but it didn't, then getting on the freeway or taking off from a light, it had no power and didn't want to take off like it normally would.

I removed the IAC and cleaned it with throttle body cleaner. It had alot of carbon build up, and the flakes and carbon pieces were coming out as I was spraying/soaking it. I also cleaned the throttle body then changed the oil and filter. Disconnected the negative cable to reset the computer, took it for a drive and couldn't get it to act up. The wifey said it worked fine yesterday too, so I hope my issues are over.

Me too! If anything changes for the worse, I'll post symptoms.

Thanks

It works! Passed CA smog today with 0 emissions and the car gets up and goes like it's supposed to do. No more rough running or stalling issues either. It's amazing what a clean IAC will do for you.

FYI, it is always fun for me to know when I've saved myself $300 (dealer charge) for about 1 hour of my time and a few dollars in Cleaner! Great, glad you could get it fixed.

Enjoy.
