Hi all, I have a 650 double pumper on my 1977 F-150 460. Stock everything except MSD. The carb came off my race car and I did not change the jets so I'm running rich. The carb has 78 primary and the power valve blocked. Any one know a good baseline to start at? Also have to replace rear main seal, any advice or short cuts? Thanks
It will depend on the original jet sizing in your carb. Install the stock jet sizes for that carb. The jet sizes will depend on the carb part number or "list number" stamped into the primary side air horn.
Start your primary side jets at 67 and the secondary side at 76. Since
it was a race carb, have larger discharge nozzels been installed? I would make sure it's no larger than a .028 .
I know that it all depends on what use you are going to put the truck to, but I would recommend moving to a vac secondary carb or your fuel bill is going to be a major fixture in your immediate future.
