truck checks out, now has 13k miles on it as they have started driving it. It is a harley model....didn't know there were so many options...like wow...the v10 sits there and purrs like a kitten, can't say i have every seen a motor sit and idle so smooth, no shake no shimmy...the ride rivals the current 2006 chevy 2500 diesel i drive for work, a little stiffer but impressed. The price is firm ( i tried !) at private seller, excellent, blue book $$$. Still a short box so decided to sleep on it and wait until monday but i already know the answer, if not sold monday, i'll be a part of the ford family...better yet the wife says go for it....after almost 34 years we finally agree on something kind of feel like i'm waiting for christmas morning as a youngster....let ya know how this turns out....thanks for all the input!
GOT IT!!!!!
13,212 miles at time of keys in my hands!!! The original owner handed me all the Ford dealership receipts for service work, etc. Matches Oasis report for a battery replacement and 1 fuel line recall, all miles, etc. Old guys shouldn't get this excited about a truck I'll have to take some pictures and figure out how to post them. It will be later in the weekend as we are heading out for a couple of days, New pride and joy tucked safely in the garage. It just fits...I use to get my 1990 F350 Crew-cab 8' box in there, either the garage has shrunk or I need to rent a dumpster...
Looks great. Especially love the front end. Flames could stand to go IMO, but otherwise cool. Get some sort of cover for your bed. If you don't use it much, a fiber glass top matched in black would look good.
Truck came with a bed liner and a soft cover on the box. Have yet to figure out how to open it....At first I didn't care for the flames, the low miles is what caught my attention, but they have now grown on me, makes it a bit unique. Now I suppose I'll have to paint my Harleys black with flames
Good find on that great looking truck. Welcome to the family, I have been very happy with the friendless, advice, and help from the people on this forum. I really love my V-10 Excursion. The thing about the V-10 is that it is a motor that requires a little maintenance to ensure it last's like it should and will. The spark plugs, plug boots, coils, trans ,brake,p/s fluids all need to be kept in good condition. It's simple, and will get you under the hood of that beast, so you can familiarize yourself with the truck. Good luck.
