I haven't checked in here for awhile so I just dropped by to see whats going on with other 6.4 owners. I was pleasently surprised to see very few problems with the 6.4. Mine is a J1 with about 58K mi and has never needed any work other then normal maint. It still has it's original radiator. I'm so glad that I passed on the 6.0 and waited for this one. When Ford comes out with their own engine I hope it is half as good as this one. Just MHO
My job 1 has been great. 99K pleasant miles, tows like a dream. I am on my third radiator but I can live with that vs. EGR problems and limp mode events.
This thread might be good to start a sort of poll to try to get a summary of 6.4 owners experience. I would hope that the good would outweigh the bad.
Over 30,000km's here and not a single problem either, other than 3 missing wheel pressure sensors when I picked it up from the dealer. Still original rad and runs and drives like a champ. Also due to the tuner being on I have not had a reflash for TSB's in over a year and still no problems. Glad to know there are guys like us out there that are not plagued with problems and breakdowns. I have a good friend that has been left stranded 3 different times now and had to call a tow truck each time. First time was rad, second EGR valve and 3rd time was a bearing in the turbo blades. His cab has been off almost as many times as I have changed my oil. He has around 140,000km's now so maybe I should watch what I say, haha. Poor guy babies his truck too and drives like an old lady, maybe that is the problem???
Yeah coming over here from the 6.0 forum, this forum is kinda boring Someone break something already so we have something to talk about!
I guess we are stuck talking about what cool things we wired to our upfitter switches. I have my bed fuel pump, front bed lights, rear bed lights and the SEIC high idle mod. How bout you guys...cmon we need something to talk about
Aux 1 - 750W Inverter mounted under the center bench seat thing, power switch for the 600W amp for the subwoofer behind the rear seat.
Aux 2 - Sho-Me strobe lights mounted in the light lenses at the 4 corners.
Aux 3 - bed lights, Wal-Mart fog lights mounted under the bed rails
Aux 4 - Air compressor for the air bags, high idle mod (I figure these tied together would be fine).
I need more switches!
Attaboy, used em all and need more. Before they were hooked up they would just sit there and taunt me, whispering...hook us up to something stupid. I have a local trophy shop making me a brushed aluminum plate with labels for the switches laser etched in it. I'll post some pics when its installed.
Always great to hear from happy 6.4 users. I love my truck and although I only have
10K on her(have to share miles with my 6.0's) I absolutely love my 6.4, especially for towing.
I have found it to be quite consistent that the majority of 6.4 bashers do not even own one.

I'm so glad someone started this thread. I thought I was the only one. I have 6500 Km. on a job 3. Absolutely no issues. I love this truck. Has only cleaned the exhaust filter four times. The posts I read are getting me paranoid. I have lost count of the number of Ford trucks I have had & I always swore I would never buy a diesel. I couldn't find a V10 anywhere & thought I was settling for a diesel. My wife thinks I'm crazy, told her I didn't want a diesel & now I just have this silly smile.
