Intake choice for 400
I am currently looking for an intake for my 77f150 with the 400 motor. I wanted a 4 barrel setup so it looks like my main options are the edlebrock performer or the weiand action plus. However, I have seen a few Holley Dominators on eBay for fairly cheap and I was wondering if I would be unhappy with it because it is single plane. I don't need a ton of low-end torque, it's going to be more of an every day driver, occasionally hauling loads of wood and things like that. Just trying to make the engine a little more efficient and a little more powerful, but still keep it emissions legal. If you have any advice, let me know! Thanks!

The Holley street dominators are decent intakes, I ran one on my 79 for three years and I liked it just find. The intakes use smaller runners than most single planes and actually make some power down low. If I was to pick out of the three you listed I would go with the Weiand, but I bought my Holley for $25, always a deciding factor for me.

Normally you match the intake to the camshafts RPM range, If you have a stock cam then a Weiland or Edelbrock Performer intake should work, A single plane intake is mainly for high performance use... eg High revs and large carb. Something to look into.
