86 ranger split flex plate!!
Wow about a week ago i noticed my little 86 ranger 4x4 started making a strange noise after starting and picked up a high rev vibration. I pulled the torque converter inspection plate to see if the converter was loose.. they were all tight but i noticed a split in the flex plate, uh oh.. i pulled the motor and removed the flexplate and that baby was just about ready to unload. she was split the whole way around i dont what was keeping it there fortunately my local junk yard had one off a 90 and i had her back on the road the same day. anyone else had this the people at the junk yard said this is common for the 2.9.
