hi all. I have a Street Avenger 570 (brand new) and I wanted to adjust the float levels. The fuel seems to be below the sight window. As instructed, I loosened the lock screw just enough to turn the lock nut and began incrementally turning the nut counterclockwise to raise the float level. I wasn't having any success. The fuel level was not changing.
From the best I can tell, the adjusting nut is not actually doing anything. We took the lockscrew out and it appears the the nut has two notches that should fit on the post that the screw threads into. The problem seems to be that the inner post is recessed too far into the throttle body for the nut to engage the shaft and spin it (I'm assuming that's how the adjustment happens). How do I rectify this? In this position the nut just spins freely beneath the loosened lock screw but does not engage the float adjustment shaft.
That "inner post" you are looking at is the needle and seat assembly. Take a small screwdriver and unscrew it until it fits into the nut when it is installed. The problem is it was inadvertantly set too low and the nut wasn't able to engage it. Then you will be able to set your float level.
