Shooting Range Day?

I don't believe the fire has reached the shooting range at this point. I read last night that the entire Southern portion of the Angeles National Forest from Interstate 5 to Interstate 15 is closed through Labor Day.

Called the Angeles range. He said they are open, but the road is closed. Didn't exactly make any sense, but I think it was just an issue with getting the gate open because he said to call back in 15 minutes.
Anyway, I take it to mean they didn't burn down.

Called again. Got my "girlfriend" this time.
Range is closed. No fire damage, but the road is closed due to fire fighting activity. They are day by day, and all we can do is wait and see. She was hopeful they would be open tomorrow and Sunday.
The range is not threatened.

Well, we sure could use some more chapter participation. This is a very nice range, and the steel gongs are really fun to plink. They have steel at 100, 200, 300, 400, and 600 yards on the rifle side, and closer distances on the handgun/rimfire side.
