Have any of you done this or know about drilling brake drums?
While searching for econoline info i ran across an artical about drilled drums for ventilation and better performance, Guess this was done in the 50's before disc's. I read there is a Company in SoCal called C H Topping that does this for you. Anyone know about this? would you do this? or is it a waste of time and money.
And.... any of you guys hear of EQUAL? for balancing tires.
It's somthing you put inside of the tire while you mount them.
Drilling drums = waste of time and money, not to mention will also weaken them substantially. What may have been done for racing to lessen weight for single drag passes is not something that should be applied to a street driven vehicle that has to do repeated stops.
I've heard of some beads or other material you put in a motorcycle tire to balance it without weights. The people selling it swear by it, but I think the old tried and true method makes more sense.
