Transmission question

Any help would be appreciated here... I have a 49 F-1 and I have a 351C engine to drop in it. I want to do the Explorer rear end swap and an IFS front end. The question is can I take the Explorer rear end, drive shaft and transmission and bolt it up to the 351C. And if so, what else would I need? I think I have to replace the flexplate, but beyond that I'm at a loss? I'm looking at going to one of those you remove it junk yard/parts places and I was planning on taking basically the whole Explorer drive line... Am on on the right path?

totally possible however what year is the explorer? The transmissions became electronically controlled and that is a whole other ball game.

In fact thats what I am doing now but besides the hard parts you are going to have to get a controller for the trans (400 bux is what I spent in mine) I got a baumann controler.

It all matters how much you really want to spend and get involved. A good place to see the swap and what entails is the website

The 351c has a small block bolt pattern so you are good to go so long as the explorer you are going to get parts from has the same pattern. Some explorers were the 5.0 so its possible. Hope that gives some light to your question.
